Description

Unusual iron pontil soda for sale - a nice porter in deep teal aqua to medium blue green color. Rounded lower bevel, as found on some Baltimore made porters of the era. I had thought it might be the mold in light to medium yellow green pictured next to it. Close, but not a match. However, also not the typical Dyottville or Union blank. Atlantic region, possibly Baltimore, South Jersey, West Virginia or even Richmond glass works. Purchased from a Richmond based eBay seller, but he couldn’t say where it was dug as it changed hands before him.

Someone lightly cleaned it to about perfect condition with some minor remaining wear and very faint remaining stain on outer neck, hard to see but nice, as it adds a little highlight to the bubbles. It doesn’t look like a cleaned bottle. Probably rare, though quite inexpensive, due to not being embossed.
