The Bootle Den Antique Pontiled Soda (APS) database has been actively helping collectors to identify the rarity and value of pontiled sodas for over 20 years. As the site owner, I have made numerous code updates to the PHP files to keep it running on newer versions.
Now, with the acceleration of security changes, hacks and code deprecation, I simply no longer have the motivation to learn completely new coding languages in order to keep up with these never ending, and more frequently occurring changes.
I do have the files and images on this server which the software accessed, and would make them available to anyone, for a nominal fee (no where near the hours spent in the last 20 years to keep this resource free to collectors) for anyone interested in restoring and managing / updating the database. It has been a very fulfilling endeavor, and it has helped me to understand the huge number of bottles and bottlers in this fascinating hobby. Unless, or until someone volunteers their efforts to restore functionality, or purchases the files, I recommend sodasandbeers.com as a fallback to at least guage the relative rarity of a soda or beer. If it's not in Tod's database, it is certainly rare.
