Hurricane Frances Wreaks Havoc On Tallahassee !

September 6th, 2004 will be remembered as a day that almost destroyed the better part of a collection that had endured over five moves, two divorces, countless shows and three hurricanes over the past 25 years.

Only hours before a 90 foot southern pine came crashing into the roof above, several better bottles from one display window were cautiously placed in a safe area, including  September's featured pontiled soda.

Sadly, several other bottles were not so lucky, including a rare, Baltimore Lord & Taylor iron pontiled whiskey barrel and a civil war period citrate that had been sold and was awaiting shipping . . .

Display bottles from the bottle den collection that were moved from the window shelf to an interior breakfast nook just moments before the window shattered

Display shelves on inside of window that was shattered.

Pine tree that struck the house and portions of tree that struck the upper deck and roof, shattering one of the display windows and landing on the lower deck.
