HERKIMER
Herkimer is the name that I've given to the beast that has been used
to restore some of my antique bottles to their near original condition.
This custom bottle cleaning (tumbling) machine was built in the late
1980's from modified plans developed and marketed by John Odell. The multi-level or "top and bottom shelf" design is a
modification that I made. Most machines are placed side by side--I find
this more convenient to load and unload. Herk isn't pretty, but he gets
the job done. I suspect the motor will outlast me. |

I have used Herk to restore certain bottles in my collection, as
well as some bottles that I sell. I always list cleaned bottles as
having been cleaned, when I have tumbled them. At this time, I do not clean
bottles as a service offering, however, my good friend
Russ Butler provides cleaning
services, and I would recommend him without reservation.
