Description | While there are many surviving mint "HOUCK's PATENT PANACEA" bottles in circulation, this is by far the earliest I've seen, exhibiting the short, flared taper and expanded neck that identifies with the earliest of Catholicons (Potter's, Oneil's) as well as the first cylindrical Swaim's, circa 1829. This mint example is one of Jacob Houck's earliest bottles, circa early 1830's and stands above the rest, even though the price is right there with the average Houcks of the 40's and 50's. In making pontil flash as seen in pics--be sure to enlarge all. $9.00 shipping includes insurance. | ||||||||||
