add to favorites MINT HONEY AMBER MALZ Sodas & Beers
Here is one awesome colored blob malt tonic, with 25% remaining original label. Color approaches yellow. Probably a german made bottle shipped to NJ in the late 1860's (when Stanford was in business on Mulberry and Elm in Newark). Those of you who study period label graphics know how early this style is, and Liebig predates the 1850's. A very hard color to acquire, and a very cool oversized blob top at 8.5 " tall. Several potstones have in-making spider legs, but this was obviously never in the ground. $9.50 shipping includes insurance.
add to favorites IRON PONTIL MINERAL Sodas & Beers
TWITCHELL / T (OPEN BLOCK) / PHILADA. - SUPERIOR / T (OPEN BLOCK) / MINERAL WATER. CONDITION: NO damage. Professionally cleaned with little to no wear remaining. Some faint patches of remaining scaling. No stain, chips cracks or any distractions of note. This pastel green example has a deep kick-up iron pontil scar with no iron remaining--average strike for this mold. Top looks more like an inverted taper below a straight edge sheared lip, as opposed to the more common Twitchell top you see on the turquoise example. Note the downward pointing edges of the open block T, which are shorter than the turquoise example's - which establishes the different molds. For sale is pastel or sea green example only. $9.50 shipping includes insurance.
add to favorites Civil Ware Era FLEMING Citrate Medicines
One of my all time favorites, the JOS. FLEMING / DRUGGIST / COR. MARKET & DIMOND / PITTSBG PA Rich, bluish aqua, this bottle has been lightly cleaned to about perfect condition with no damage or distractions of any type. Clean and shimmering clear. Circa 1860-1865. Beautiful Civil War period medicine, or citrate. 7 1/2" tall. $9.50 shipping and insur.
add to favorites CIVIL WAR ERA DRUGGIST Medicines
GREAT example of a JOHN GILBERT druggist, in my favorite "citrate" size. Just missed being open pontiled. Lightly cleaned to about perfect with just a hint of remaining orange peel type pitting (in-making?). Pretty clean open bubble inside shoulder with no dirt or gunk. No chips, cracks, stain, haze, nicks, dings or case wear--displays perfect. Early hinge-mold smooth base, circa 1860-1865. Definately a Civil War era collectible. $9.50 covers shipping and insurance.
remove from favorites Fancy Brandy or Bock Beer - RARE Spirits & Whiskey
These decorative cylinders are sometimes referred to as back bar brandies, but are usually much larger at 11 to 12 inches. They are scarce in the larger size, but I'd have to call this smaller 9" size very scarce to rare. I have seen one other close to this size with a colorful foil label depicting just a goat's head and the words BOCK BEER! Could be a product of Frankstown (see McKearin) and has all the qualities and characteristics of 1860's or early 70's glass. Perfect condition--no flaws whatsoever. $9.50 shipping includes insurance.
remove from favorites IRON PONTIL PORTER - DIVINE Sodas & Beers
Here's a pretty, medium teal blue-green P. DIVINE porter. With deep pontil scar and the "BOTTLER" embossing, it's a little scarcer than the emerald green molds without. Lightly cleaned to remove a scratch on the shoulder, some weak remnants of which barely remain, along with some fine light scratches, bringing it to about perfect condition--doesn't appear as a cleaned bottle. Pontiled porters seem to be drying up on EBAY. $9.00 SHIPPING INCLUDES INSURANCE.
remove from favorites Early 1830's Houck's BALTIMORE Medicines
While there are many surviving mint "HOUCK's PATENT PANACEA" bottles in circulation, this is by far the earliest I've seen, exhibiting the short, flared taper and expanded neck that identifies with the earliest of Catholicons (Potter's, Oneil's) as well as the first cylindrical Swaim's, circa 1829. This mint example is one of Jacob Houck's earliest bottles, circa early 1830's and stands above the rest, even though the price is right there with the average Houcks of the 40's and 50's. In making pontil flash as seen in pics--be sure to enlarge all. $9.00 shipping includes insurance.
